Solar Moonshot Program Grantee
The Yole Institute
“Our work at the Yole Institute is rooted in the Uzuri proverb that the world is made of stories and human beings enact the stories we believe. As Black and indigenous leaders, our priority is to share and enact stories that advance social, political, ecological, and spiritual justice. We do this through freedom farming, education, and multi-media storytelling. Adding solar to our farm-based learning center in the North Carolina piedmont allows us to provide food, skills, and knowledge to additional members of our growing community while, at the same time, supporting our effort to increase our autonomy and live in greater balance with the natural world.”
